This project focuses on acquiring an understanding of the power of the Supreme People’s Court in China. This research is aimed at gaining more insight into the legal and practical functioning of the highest national court in China, and offers a reflection on the relation between the separation of powers doctrine and the role of the highest national courts beyond Western democratic legal settings.
This is a PhD research project conducted by Ms. Qi Ding. It is funded by the China Scholar Scholarship Council and falls under NCLC Lines of Research no. 1, 2, and 6.
